Do you like True Crime podcasts but hate the feeling of helplessness after listening? Do you love wildlife, but have questions about how safe it actually is to recreate around wildlife?

The Get Out Alive podcast gives you that True Crime feel, but provides actual advice on how to avoid negative interactions with wild animals, with the help of expert biologists and animal attack survivors.

This podcast was born out of Ashley's frustration when handling phone calls from people experiencing wildlife conflicts who just wanted to kill the animal. She figured, what better way to talk honestly about human-wildlife conflicts than start a podcast? And Get Out Alive was born.

The goal of the podcast is to be honest about the dangers some animal pose, but also be clear that attacks are not nearly as common as we think.

Meet the Host

Ashley Bray

A born and raised New Englander, Ashley got her undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont in wildlife biology, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Wildlife Forensic Sciences and Conservation from the University of Florida. She has dipped her toe in many aspects of wildlife biology so far, but especially human-wildlife conflict, which is the main focus of Get Out Alive. When she’s not making the podcast, Ashley enjoys video games, reading, spending time outside with her dogs and friends, hiking, kayaking, gardening (not well), and looking for wildlife.
